About LIBRARY:
Library is the hub of most intellectual and academic activities of the Institute.SGIT has a fully automated and computerized library that uses Information technology for all the activities. The library also has reading and text books facility.It contains advanced and latest literature on Engineering, Management, computer science and Pharmacy.The SGIT boasts of a rich collection of books, magazines, audio and videocassettes, CDs and VCDs, microfilms and Micro-fiche. A digital or electronic library is the one in which a significant proportion of the resources are available in machine-readable format accessible by the means of computers. The library is hooked on to various networks for procuring books and journals.The digital content may be locally held or accessed remotely via computer networks.
FACILITIES:
the library is networked with high speed internet access.Reprographics facilities with photocopier, document scanner, printer and CD writer are provided for Separate sections for reference material, periodicals, and project reports are provided for easy access. DDC coding, bar coding, magnetic sensors and software of institutional management (SIM) software facility. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility is now available at the entrance of central digital library as well as at departmental libraries to facilitate online search of books available with Title, Author, Keyword and Subject search options. In addition to fully automated central digital library, all Department of SGIT have their own libraries to facilitate easy access to the faculty.
CDL Collection:
Central Digital Library has tried to build a strong collection in the area of science, technology, engineering, management and pharmacy etc. The collection comprises mainly books, current journals, back volumes, standards, audio-video cassette, CD-ROMs etc. The collection is heavily used by the faculty and students. The organization of the entire collections is given below:
LEVEL- 0 : Circulation and Textbook
The "0" level of the CDL have the circulation and text book on either side of the counter.
LEVEL-1: Textbooks Section
This hall contains all the textbooks for the purpose of borrowing by the students. It stacks the textbooks of all subjects of the institute’s curriculum. Each alternative selves have computer terminal for search of the availability of books at the selves.
LEVEL-2: Reference section
This section of CDL mainly contains the all type of reference books.CDL have tried to keep at least one copy of textbooks and all international publications etc along with current journals Indian as well as international. In this section the main subjects have been displayed on the end panel of each book stack. The stack of this hall has the books on computer science, engineering, management and pharmacy.

| Central Digital Library provides following services to the student, faculty members : |

 The CDL follows Open Access system.
 Reference Collection are available at -2 level of the CDL. The reference collection includes strong stock of all kinds of reference books, handbook, dictionaries and encyclopedia.
 Circulation of books at 0 level.
 Inter-Library Loan facility is available through DELNET.
 Textbooks on all disciplines are centralized are kept at the textbook section spread over level 0 and level -1.
 OPAC/e-journal access facility for the student and faculty members are available at 10 computer terminals spread at each level of the CDL. |

| |
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service available to current students, faculty members and staff to obtain material not owned by CDL. The Items which are not owned by CDL can be procured through ILL from Developing Library Network (DELNET). You can search DELNET database regarding Books, Articles, Journals at http://delnet.nic.in by clicking ‘DELNET ONLINE’. Please contact CDL for ID and Password for accessing Delnet Online Services. Submit your request duly signed by Head of the Department and email an electronic copy to librarian. |

CDL provides vide range of reference services as and when required by faculty members and student not only limited to SDI, Citation search, Alerting, Content alert. |

CDL is fully connected with INTERNET at all node of the library for the purpose of access of e-Journals, Educational Resources during all the working hours of the CDL. |

| Photocopy Facility: |

The Xeroxing facility in the CDL is extended through is available at -2 level of the CDL. Students can take photocopy of the desired materials. |

All students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are entitled for the membership of the Library.
Their entitlements, in terms of number of books that they can borrow and the permissible loan period are. |

| Circulation Rules |
| |
1. Please maintain silence in the Library.
2. Please show your identity card at the time of issue of Books / Magazines / if already member of library, no need to show your identity card.
3. Please don’t disturb the order of Books / Magazines / Newspapers etc.
4. After reading, Books and Magazines can be keep on same place, if the same are not to be issued.
5. Reference Books are not for the purpose of issue.
6. In case of damage or Loss to the Books / Magazines lent out, the full cost of the Books/ Magazines (as per latest price) shall be recovered from the borrower.
7. For any assistance please contact Librarian.
8. Books will be issued for 10 days only.
9. Please check the due date on issued books. (Due date is return date of book)
10. Maximum four (4) books will be issued per student.
11. If you will not return the books on due date then you will pay 2 Rs.Fine till 5 days.
12. After 5 days you will pay 5 Rs. Fine per day of each book.
13. Personal Belongings like handing bags, purses, helmets, umbrellas, personal book etc. are not allowed in the library.
14. Mobile and laptop not use in library.
15. Reference books, Gift books Project reports, Magazines, Periodicals, Newspapers would not be issue under any circumstances. |

At Left Side of Library Webpage, Click Web OPAC link to search CDL Database for finding resources eg Books, Journals, CD-ROM, DVD ROM catalogued in CDL. A New Windows will be opened as http:/……………………... Bookmark this page for your future need.
There you will find default search window for searching by keywords, author, subject, publisher, title. Type few words for which you are looking for any document.
Searching by author you need to type Author’s surname first. See the availability of the Document if it is available in the CDL. Note down its accession number and call number forlocating it in the CDL Shelves.If you further need any help ask circulation counter or any CDL staff for assistance.
In case if you do not find any books you can ask for Inter Library Loan.
